A bit out Art….

Art Terry is from Hollywood, California, and had his musical upbringing at the First AME gospel church in Santa Monica and round the piano in his family home. He studied jazz composition in college with a focus on cocktail piano stylings. He is also a singer-songwriter, and is currently performing a personal folk/funk take on the American Songbook, a pained but loving tribute to the country he left 35 years ago. He is the keyboardist for the artist Stew, whose musical Passing Strange, about his and Art’s youthful travels in Europe, won a Tony award and was filmed by Spike Lee. Art has performed on numerous stages in Europe and the US, from the Latitude Festival here in the UK to the Kennedy Centre in Washington DC.
