Food Rocks has just celebrated its fifth year of fun and food which takes place beside the Lyme Regis seaside.

The festival started as a vision of acclaimed chef Mark Hix. The aim of the annual event is to promote his hometown Lyme Regis, Dorset plus the surrounding areas, by presenting some of the best food, producers and suppliers that Dorset and the South West has to offer.

The festival brings together top chefs, exhibitors, locals and those who are visiting Lyme Regis. The main stage will showcase a diverse mix of interactive cookery demonstrations, talks and tastings across the weekend.

In addition to this, all money raised is donated to the RNLI, the Fishermen’s Mission and the Lyme Regis Sculpture Trail.

HIX Soho

HIX Soho brings fish and shellfish to the forefront, with an unrivalled dedication to seasonality and sourcing.

The studded leather banquettes and dark oak floor of the dining room set the scene for comfort and indulgence in the heart of the west-end.

Large parties of up to 12 can dine from the a la carte menu – a rare find in this part of London – below Mark’s celebrated collection of mobiles.

The elegant oak-panelled private dining room is perfect for meetings and discreet lunches or dinners for up to ten guests.

Tucked beneath HIX Soho is the subterranean sanctum Mark’s Bar. With a sunken bar, large chesterfields and a cocktail list championing British libations, Mark’s Bar is the unequivocal jewel of HIX Soho and widely known as one of the best bars in London.

HIX Townhouse

Located a short walk from HIX Oyster & Fish House, HIX Townhouse features eight luxury double rooms, personally designed by Mark alongside British artists and local producers, all individually themed around his passions.

Every morning a freshly made HIX Hamper will be delivered to your room featuring home-made sweet and savoury goodies, locally produced cereal and fresh fruit. An honesty kitchen is also available for late night snacks.

This boutique guest house can be hired out in its entirety, perfect for those significant birthdays and special occasions.

Weekends are booked online at a minimum two night stay, however we may still have availability for this night. Please call reception on 01297 442499 to enquire about one night stays.

As a guest of the Townhouse you are eligible for a 10% discount at HIX Oyster & Fish House, please take your welcome letter along with you when you dine. Our receptionists will be happy to make a reservation for you.

A stone’s throw from Borough Market, Hixter was originally a metal box factory and is lauded as one of the most unique and versatile venues south of the river. Hixter pays homage to its origins with exposed brick and metalwork featured throughout.

The main dining room, complete with a baby grand piano, is overlooked by Charming Baker’s ‘Faith’s Leap’ and the walls of the striking open-plan kitchen are built with the Himalayan salt bricks that are used to age our beef. Offering a variety of flexible private dining spaces for corporate and social events, Hixter is also licensed for wedding ceremonies.

Chicken, steak, and most recently, fish and seafood form the heart of the menu showcasing the best of British ingredients alongside dishes influenced by Mark’s travels.

The CNB dining room is a bright space bathed in natural daylight enveloped by Luke Embden’s pop-art mural. The opulent Bull Room with large windows and velvet curtains lends itself to breakfast meetings, private dining and drinks receptions.

Downstairs, Mark’s Bar is a hidden gem featuring an impressive sunken bar with cinema-style bar seating and Mark’s signature billiards table. Like its sister bar in Soho, the understated luxury of Mark’s Bar Bankside offers the perfect setting for drinks parties or feasting. Our cocktail masterclasses are now available to book for parties of 6 or more.
