Food & Wine pairing

Explore the wines of Germany with Mark Hix in the first of our Food & Wine pairing dinners at HIX Oyster & Chop House.

Mark and our guest host John Hutton, Chairman of FMV wines, will talk about the regional wines from these countries and how they pair perfectly to Mark’s German-influenced menu using the best of British seasonal ingredients.

Our wine dinner includes Mosel top-quality producers Heymann-Löwenstein and Selbach-Oster.  Our reach extends onwards to the Saar where Van Volxem makes some of the finest sustainably-made Rieslings in the area and to the Pfalz where Eymann makes round fully ripe Pinot Noir thanks to local climatic conditions. In the Rheingau Eva Fricke produces wonderfully mineral-driven Riesling grown on the steep slopes of Lorch.

The evening will start at 7pm with a drink on arrival. Wine is included in the ticket price however, guests are also welcome to bring along their own German wine for the evening for no additional corkage fee.
